Tourist Trap · how to play

A holiday for two

Share one device and take turns. Player 1 is the blue checker; Player 2 is the red diamond. Each begins with £250, 5 gallons of petrol and 0 points. A player is chosen at random to start.

Your goal: score as many points as possible before either player runs out of money. Attractions offer points, bills and surprises.

Throw the die: hold it with your pointer, or hold Enter or Space while the die is focused. Release to stop. Move round the board by your throw and follow the attraction’s instructions.

Keep throwing throughout your turn, even if the die applies to your opponent.

Buy petrol when you can. Any petrol left at the end of the game is credited as points. The highest final score wins.

Review controls / seeds & fixtures

Localization progress

These fixtures exercise the same rules object as the Board Room. They make the tow, refuel and ownership boundaries inspectable without flattening the public turn controls.

Visual provenance

A room, not a rewrite

  • Perimeter: source board positions 0–29 and exact event attributes from BASIC 8000–8250.
  • Tokens: 8×8 patterned descendants of Player 1 / Player 2 UDGs in BASIC 9110.
  • Centre: the original reserves it for holiday scenes; active attractions replace the open centre with a matching 3D landmark. Petrol Stop offer/receipt is a live pump, fuel/cash/price/gallons board; Campsite is a live multiplier/die/fee/cash verdict gate; out-of-petrol/tow/refuel is a source-linked fuel gauge and tow cue.
  • Access: active turn uses text, a checker/diamond silhouette, glow and position — never colour alone.
